backends.http.idle-timeout
Table of Contents
idle_timeout
Set how long an HTTP backend keeps an unused connection open for reuse.
This backend-level setting applies to both a single url and named server endpoints.
backends {
http "API" {
url "https://api.example.com";
idle_timeout 30s;
get "LOOKUP" { path "/users"; }
}
}
Default: 90s.
Use a nonnegative duration, such as 500ms, 30s, or 2m.
Plain numbers use milliseconds. Set 0s to disable idle connection reuse.
After a connection has been unused for this duration, Radiator Server closes it. A later request opens a new connection if needed. Requests in progress are unaffected. The backend service can close a connection sooner.
Use timeout to limit each request attempt.
Use connections to limit concurrent operations.
