max_entries

Limits the number of duplicate-cache entries for each RADIUS UDP packet worker.

duplicate_cache {
    max_entries 200000;
}

The value is an unsigned integer. Default: 200000 per UDP packet worker.

Radiator creates one packet worker for each configured runtime worker. When a packet worker reaches the limit, it drops new request generations until cache entries expire. Existing entries remain available for duplicate detection. This bounds cache memory and lets UDP retransmissions provide natural backoff during overload.

Set the value to 0 to disable UDP duplicate caching for the listener.

The cache stores response packets and request metadata. The exact-packet duplicate_detection mode also stores the complete request packet and uses more memory per entry.
